I was playing golf today and believe me I am not going on the women's tour anytime soon. I know a lot of people when they play golf or any sport, really get worked up if they are not performing well. I tend to remind them and myself…this is a game not a job. However, I think your job should be fun too.
A friend of mine said “If we are not having fun, what are we doing?” I think this is very wise and it is something that everyone, coaches, students, parents and teachers should take to heart. School can be fun. Certainly, learning new things is fun. Coaching is fun, too. Helping young people decide on and achieve their goals is fun and satisfying. My job was lots of fun, until it wasn’t, and then I retired which is a lot of fun.
I hope you coaches out there are encouraging your students to pick a career that would be fun for them. I fear that some students want to pick a career where they can make a lot of money. Having money can be fun but not always. There are a lot of wealthy people out in the real world that say they wish they had done things differently, not chase the dollar sign so much. Enjoying your career can make the time go by quickly. And finding a career that you are passionate about allows you to work and have fun at the same time. What a novel idea!
In the meantime, if you would like to know more about Career coaching or would like to share your story, comment below to this blog and let me know your story.
Until next time… have fun, it’s good for you!

Hard to find something more fun than seeing a smile from a young person you are helping work toward a better life.
