Greensboro, GA — Thillen Education Foundation, in collaboration with Greene College & Career Academy, proudly revealed the latest recipients of the Dave Dollar awards during its quarterly reception on Tuesday, November 14. The event, hosted at the Greene College and Career Academy, brought together Career Coaches, parents, family members, friends, and school staff to commend students for their exceptional efforts during the past quarter.
The Dave Dollars Award program is a distinctive program designed to reward students attending Greene College & Career Academy for their hard work throughout their four years of high school. These Dave Dollars transition into real dollars upon the students' graduation from Greene County High School. The primary objective of this program is to provide financial assistance for the over 400 students actively participating in the career coaching program.
Students who earn Dave Dollars have the flexibility to utilize their funds based on their chosen path post-graduation. For those pursuing further education, the earned funds can be applied to expenses associated with starting college or a certification program. For those entering the workforce immediately, the funds can be employed to acquire professional supplies essential for initiating their careers. Additionally, students opting for military service can use their earned funds to purchase necessary supplies for the commencement of their service or allocate them towards continuing education or career startup expenses, either during or after completing military service.
Thillen Education Foundation and Greene College & Career Academy remain committed to recognizing and supporting the hard work and dedication of students, empowering them to achieve their academic and career goals. The Dave Dollar program stands as a testament to this commitment, providing tangible support and encouragement for the students' future endeavors.
